Rev. Ricky Gibson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Veterans Formation, P.O. Box 12521, Columbia, SC. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is in charge. Lt. Koestner, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002. Born in Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late Edward Richard and Lleita Patterson Koestner. He attended Columbia College in Columbia, MO and Suffolk University in Boston, MA. A veteran of Desert Storm, he retired after 20 years in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran service representative for the Veterans Administration. He was a member of the DeWitt Clinton Masonic Lodge and Aleppo Shrine in Sandwich, MA, a member of Retired Officers' Association of Cape Cod, board member of The Veterans Formation and attended Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden. Surviving are his wife, Sheila Gail Foster Koestner of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Christina Koestner of Atlanta, GA and Erica Koestner of West Hyannis Port, MA; sisters, Patsy E. Koestner of Crozet, VA and Carol A. Koestner, Camden; three nieces and four nephews.
