    KIRK E. WILLIAMS
    October 13, 1925 ~ January 18, 2013

    Civil engineer, Mason, and WWII veteran, Kirk E. Williams, 87, of Vancouver, Washington, died January 18, 2013 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.

    Retired from Bonneville Power Administration in where he managed mapping and design, Kirk had also been an engineer for the Washington State Highway Department and was Klickitat County Engineer in Klickitat County, Washington State..

    During World War II, Williams served in Germany with the 328th Infantry Regiment, 26th Division as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

    A 32nd degree Mason, Kirk was very active in a number of lodges. He was Past Master and Life Member of Washington Lodge #4 and Past Master of Lodges #163 and #267. Kirk was also an adult leader of two Vancouver Boy Scout troops; 320 and 400, all in Vancouver, Washington.

    Following World War II, Kirk earned degrees in Mathematics, Education and Engineering from Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. Later, he received an MBA from University of Portland in Portland, Oregon.

    Kirk is survived by his wife, Kathleen Williams; son, Grant Williams; daughter, Robin Wild; grandsons, Jesse Laabs, Scott Williams, Stephen Laabs, Geoffrey Laabs and Benjamin Williams; and five great-grandchildren.

    His funeral was at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver, Washington on Friday, January 25, 2013. Internment was at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

    Kirk requested that a donation be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
