    Deceased Name: Kathleen King, 82; Organist And Former Music Teacher
    Kathleen Fowler King, a former piano teacher and church organist, died Friday (June 7, 1991) at her home in Manchester after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. She was 82.
    Mrs. King taught piano for nearly 40 years. She was an organist for many years for several churches in the St. Louis area, including Oak Hill Presbyterian Church, Central Presbyterian Church and St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.
    In the 1920s and early 1930s, she played organ for silent movies at a theatre in Boonville, Mo.
    She was the widow of Roy King, retired head of the reference department at the Post-Dispatch. He died last year.
    Mrs. King was born in Gulfport, Miss. She earned a bachelor's degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., and a master's degree in music from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
    A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Central Presbyterian Church, 7700 Davis Place, Clayton. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
    Among survivors are a daughter, Margaret Rechtien of Manchester; a son, Thomas Roy King of Clarksville, Tenn.; a sister, Margaret Meloan of McPherson, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

    Lillian married Roy Tilman KING on 12 Jun 1937 in Booneville, Cooper County, MO. Roy (son of Pleasant Tilman KING and Sarah Margaret MCBRIDE) was born on 26 Dec 1904 in Sturgeon, Boone County, MO; died on 19 May 1990 in Ballwin, Saint Louis, MO. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
