Services were held Saturday, June 22 in The Viola United Methodist Church with burial in The Viola Cemetery. He was born March 11, 1905 in Chicago to Mr. and Mrs. John Kotel. In 1936 he married Margaret Urbanus. She preceded him in death on January 12, 1973. The Kotels operated The Mound Park Store in Viola since 1951. Surviving are one son Kelwyn, of Viola; one daughter, Mrs. Earl (Nancy) Kenworthy, of Belvidere, Ill.; and one grandchild.
