Port Angeles resident Alan Hare, 77, died on Peninsula Golf Course in Port Angeles of undetermined causes.
He was born in Oak Park, Ill., to Edward and Josephine (Brecka) Zajicek.
He married Janice Lucile Pacl on June 24, 1950, in Cicero, Ill.
He served with the Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Saipan.
Mr. Hare held a Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering and, with Ron Carlson, co-founded Northwest Technical Industries, from which he was retired.
He was a member of Queen of Angels Roman Catholic Church and had been a reading volunteer for primary-grade students at Queen of Angels School.
He was a 30-year member of the Peninsula Golf Club and a volunteer for StreamFest.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, in Port Angeles; son and daughter-in-law William and Mary Ann Hare of Tustin, Calif.; sons Michael Hare of Port Angeles and Greg Hare of Port Townsend; daughters and sons-in-law Desiree and Pat McVicker of Lynden, Pamela and Fred Brockman of Olympia and Taresa and Charles Mair of Joyce; brothers and sisters-in-law James and Patricia Hare of Champaign, Ill., and Bernard and Joyce Zajicek of Fulton, Ill.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathleen, a brother, Edward, and one grandchild.
