Notes - Their youngest son, also called Robert, was born in 1769 in Glasgow but he left home in his teenage years and eventually married Mary McCowan in Barnsley, Yorkshire where he lived out his life as a Hand Loom Weaver. This Robert was known in Barnsley as the “Rustic Rhymer†as he loved to write prose and poetry. I have a copy of a small book of poems published in 1839 in Barnsley.
